The Canadian Centre for Evidence-Based Nursing (CCEBN) was started in 1998 by Alba DiCenso and Donna Ciliska to promote evidence-based nursing practice. Both were founding editors of the Evidence-Based Nursing Journal which was first published in 1998. Alba chaired the panel that developed the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) to conduct some initial systematic reviews for their guidelines and contributed to the RNAO Toolkit on Implementation of Clinical Practice Guidelines. Both Alba and Donna participated in participated in the delivery of workshops on Evidence-Based Clinical Practice offered through the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University. More recently, the CCEBN, under Maureen Dobbin's leadership now offers an annual Evidence-Informed Decision Making (EIDM) Workshop. Alba and Donna have also been involved in the creation of EBN textbooks:
